My Summer in France

Hello,

I cannot believe

I have been absent 

from my blog

since the 2nd of July !

What's happened ?

Summer holiday by the sea at ile de Ré 

Jazz Festival 

with Hearth, Wind & Fire Band and many more. 

Lots of cycling through the island

 

And, of course lovely food and entertaining with family and friends ...

Bye for now, 

Summer is over 

Autumn is already there 

but our memories keep 

these precious moments with all our loving ones.

MEDICAL PLACEMENT in TANZANIA -

Hi, 

What a lovely smile !

Very communicatif ...

My daughter, Pauline,  just came back from 

3 weeks in Tanzania

where she volunteered in a hospital.

 These 2 photos show her in an orphanage. 

Her first text from there was "Mum, it's hard",

the 2nd is "Mum, it's very hard"...

Thankfully,  she enjoyed working with the babies.

She helped in the "Delivery ward" 

and be very aware of those little babies

who entered the world in such difficult conditions. 

Once, she delivered two babies on her own... She loved it.  

She went there with "Gapmedics" organisation. 

Many medical students are welcome to go to shadow doctors 

in the world. 

It was a very good experience for her.

It could have been traumatic, 

as it is such a different world. 

They need all our attention.

We are so lucky to been born 

where we did. 

Sooo lucky...

COOKING CLUB IN LONDON in the garden

Hello, 

I am back after a break. 

Too much "on my plate" 

ah, ah, ah

But last week,

as every month,  

I met my friends for our cooking Club.

4 of us agreed to cook the same dish 

or we decide who does the starter, 

who does the main, or 

who does the pudding ? 

Here we are : 

Venue at my home that time 

and as the weather was nice 

we ate in the garden, on the terrasse.

"La Route du Sel" is a lovely restaurant in Loix - Ile de Ré 

where you can enjoy seafood and lovely fish. 

From the garden :)

A peanut butter dip with red pepper, piment, cream, lemon, and salt and pepper. Delicious !

 Red cold soup with peppers, tomatoes, and ricotta cheese, with a pinch of olive oil, salt and pepper.

and for pudding, 2 cheesecakes with red berries. 

delicious ! 

Here are the 4 cooks ! 

Well done Ladies ! Lovely lunch and so useful to learn about new cooking tricks. 

Try it with some of your friends...

...  je m'y entraîne.
Les poteries anciennes à collectionner,
....  mais je n'ai pas la place.
Le plateau de fromages
....  dont je ne peux plus abuser.

... a consommer avec modération.

... dont j'aime à m'entourer à profusion .

JOURNEE DE LA FEMME - INTERNATIONAL WOMAN'S DAY

Here I am, 

Back after one week, 

since 

I had my operation for my knee.

Listening to the radio, 

"Daft Punk" : Giorgio by Moroder. I like them from the beginning. 

"Queen" : Bohemian Rhapsody. Love it !

and then the French singer ...  A discovery ...

"Jeanne Cherhal" : Noxolo from her new album out on 10th March.

And 
because 
tomorrow 
is the International Woman's Day, 

I decided to post about this woman called

 Noxolo, 

assassinated because she was lesbian ...

Jeanne Cherhal, did a song called NOXOLO about her.

It happened in 2011 in Johanesburgh

but  it still happened since .

A little girl in front of the banner is Lindiwe, the late Noxolo Nogwaza’s daughter.

She was only 4 years old when her lesbian mother was brutally murdered in 2011.
